8 Things You Shouldn’t Do While Designing Your Website
These mistakes are killing your website’s potential
Designing a website is a form of art and science at the same time. You’ve got to make it look appealing, sure, but it also needs to function smoothly, convert visitors, and drive sales. And it’s so easy to get it wrong.
After years of building websites for clients, I’ve seen these mistakes over and over again. And, of course, I’ve made most of them myself.
So, here are 8 mistakes you might be making when designing a website, and more importantly, how you can fix them to turn your site into a lead-generating machine.
1. Don’t Write an Article
Your website is not a blog post or a novel.
I know, as a content creator, it’s easy to get carried away by explaining every tiny detail. But when it comes to web design, less is more. People want to find what they’re looking for in seconds, not read the biography of your business.
When you overload a page with text, you lose visitors before they even have the chance to scroll down.
Avoid long blocks of text. Instead, break up your content with headings, bullet points, and visuals. Every word needs to earn its place.
